Playwrights Horizons’ production of Miles For Mary, a comedy from ensemble company The Mad Ones directed by Lila Neugebauer, has extended its limited engagement for a third and final week. Performances will now run through February 25 (instead of the previously scheduled February 18).
Set in 1988, the play tracks the meetings and politics of the planning committee for Garrison High School’s ninth annual Miles For Mary Telethon.
Miles For Mary was originally produced at the Bushwick Starr in 2016. The return engagement at Playwrights, which opened officially January 22, marks its official Off-Broadway premiere.
Original cast members Marc Bovino, Joe Curnutte, Michael Dalto, Amy Staats, Stephanie Wright Thompson, and Stacey Yen all reprise their roles. Performances are scheduled through February 4 in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.
The production features scenic design by Amy Rubin, costume design by company member Ásta Bennie Hostetter, lighting design by company member Mike Inwood, and sound design by company member Stowe Nelson.
New York City-based The Mad Ones is made up of co-artistic directors Bovino, Curnutte, Neugebauer, and Thompson. Dalto is associate director.
