News Mimi Kennedy Is Lady With All the Answers in Pasadena Mimi Kennedy, best known for playing Dharma's hippie mom Abby on TV's "Dharma & Greg," will star as advice columnist Ann Landers in David Rambo's The Lady With All the Answers at Pasadena Playhouse.

The California production will play Oct. 17-Nov. 23, under the direction of Brendon Fox. Rambo's plays include God's Man in Texas and The Ice-Breaker. Opening is Oct. 24.

The Lady With All the Answers is billed as a "touching sneak-peek into the inner-life of famed columnist Ann Landers. In 1975 we find Ann in her apartment faced with a deadline — her column is due but this time the advice she is writing is for herself."

Kennedy is an actress and author who has worked in theatre, film and television. In addition to "Dharma and Greg," she played queen-bee Ruth Sloan, a WWII era socialite, on the acclaimed TV drama "Homefront" and another matriarch in Aaron Spelling's "Savannah" on the WB. Her television debut was in the critically acclaimed, short-lived NBC musical-variety show "Three Girls Three" with Debbie Allen and Ellen Foley. She starred opposite British comedian Peter Cook on CBS's "The Two of Us." In the 1980s, she took a motherhood hiatus but worked onstage at the Mark Taper Forum in Jules Feiffer's Grown-Ups, and as Christian Slater's mom in "Pump Up The Volume."

The creative team includes Gary Wissmann (scenic design), Holly Poe Durbin (costume design), Trevor Norton (lighting design), Lindsay Jones (sound design), Lea Chazin (production stage manager) and Hethyr Verhoef (assistant stage manager).

The Lady With All the Answers is drawn from the life and letters of Ann Landers with the cooperation of Margo Howard. The play received its world premiere at the Cassius Carter Centre Stage at the Old Globe Theatre in 2005. It's now a popular title in regional theatres. Pasadena Playhouse is located at 39 South El Molino Avenue in Pasadena.
