Straight from the Edinburgh Festival, Benji Ming's Drivetime Drama — a one-person show in a two-person SMART car — will be arriving in London for a limited run starting Oct. 15.

Benji was unable to secure an affordable venue at this year's festival. Determined to take part in the event, he opted to devise shows fit for the front seat of a motor, driving around the city centre. Since his vehicle is a two-seater SMART car, his one-man shows play to a one-man audience. Every time he performs, he's guaranteed a full house.

Benji's innovative idea resulted in a trilogy of hit shows — Icarus Ascending, F**k You Bitch, and Seen It, Mister — each lasting 10 minutes. In Icarus Ascending the audience is trapped alongside ex-British Leyland employee Frank from Halesowen, who claims that his vehicle is beyond his control because it has been kidnapped by short-sighted aliens who believe that the car is the dominant life-form on earth.

F**k You, Bitch is a vehement tirade against Sarah, Benji's ex-wife. The action takes place as Benji drives into work, immediately after discovering that she intends to leave him for his close friend, the plasterer Eddy.

Finally Seen It Mister draws on Benji's experience as a kids' party entertainer. It's a maudlin rumination on loathsome rich kids and their disgusting, ill-mannered behaviour, and their even more disgusting, ill-mannered parents. Benji Ming's Drivetime Drama will be in London from Oct. 15-19.
