The Wilma Theatre Company of Philadelphia will open their 1999 2000 season with The 3 Musketeers, performed and adapted by Theatre de la Jeune Lune of Minneapolis, Sept. 8-Oct. 10.
The Franco-American troupe performed their adaptation to sold-out crowds with rave reviews in Minneapolis in 1996, and performed the production at the prestigious Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, in 1997.
Directed by Dominique Serrand, 3 Musketeers is adapted from the 150 year-old novel by Alexandre Dumas, and tells the classic tale of swordplay and adventure in 17th century France.
Theatre de la Jeune Lune is a company of theatre artists founded in France in 1978 by Parisians Dominique Serrand and Vincent Gracieux and Minneapolis native Barbra Berlovitz. Following 7 years of splitting their seasons between France and the United States they settled permanently in Minneapolis in 1985.
