The other announced productions to be presented in the AMTSJ 2006-2007 season will be The King and I, 42nd Street a new holiday musical Christmas Dreamland (performed at the newly restored Heritage Theatre in Campbell, CA) and a Broadway hit to be announced shortly.

Ringwald — known for her film turns in "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club," "Pretty in Pink," among others — has appeared in the musicals Cabaret and tick, tick...BOOM! as well as in the plays Enchanted April, Modern Orthodox and How I Learned to Drive. The actress stars in the production by the recent Broadway revival team of director Walter Bobbie and choreographer Wayne Cilento.

York — known for his film roles in "Cabaret," "Three Musketeers," "Murder on the Orient Express," "Logan's Run" and to younger audiences as Basil Exposition in the "Austin Powers" films — will take on the role King Arthur in the AMTSJ staging of the musical Camelot which features a new setting in a new book adapted by creator Alan Jay Lerner's son, Michael Lerner.

The AMTSJ 2006-2007 season is scheduled as follows: (subject to change)

  • The King and I by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein - Fall 2006
  • Christmas Dreamland by Dolores Duran Cefalu, Tim Bair and Troy Rintala - Dec. 1-31
  • Camelot by Frederick Loewe, Alan Jay Lerner and Michael Lerner - Winter 2007
  • 42nd Street by Harry Warren, Al Dubin and Michael Stewart - Spring 2007
