The depression-era tale of a red-haired orphan and her sidekick mutt stars Kelsey Smith in the title role, with Williamson (La Cage aux Folles) as the booze-loving Miss Hannigan, Crista Moore (Gypsy, Big) as Grace Farrell and Mark Zimmerman (Mamma Mia! On the Twentieth Century) as Oliver Warbucks.
Also set for the cast are Laurent Giroux (Rooster), Betsy Dilellio (Lily St. Regis), Tuck Milligan (FDR), and from the 20th anniversary tour of Annie is Lola, the loveable pup Sandy. A host of young local performers will round out the cast of orphans.
Norb Joerder will direct and choreograph with a creative team that includes Robert Strickland (musical director and conductor), Jason Kantrowitz (lighting designer), Peter Fitzgerald and Eric Bechtel (sound designers) and Bill Newberry (children's musical director).
Featuring a score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, with a book by Thomas Meehan, Annie nabbed seven Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score for its 1977 debut starring Andrea McArdle in the title role. The production ran for 2,377 performances and has enjoyed numerous national tours and a Broadway revival.
