Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas 8 cruise sets sail in February 2017 with a cast of award-winning stars. As previously announced, the talent aboard the Silversea’s Silver Wind includes Tony nominee Tony Yazbek, Tony nominee Melissa Errico, two-time Drama Desk nominee Karen Mason and four-time Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn.

Now, Playbill announces additional Broadway talent joining the cruise that will tour St. Bart, St. John, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Guadeloupe and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Two-time Tony nominee Howard McGillin comes aboard. Best known for his mesmerizing four-year run as Phantom of the Opera, he last wowed audiences onstage in Broadway’s Gigi. McGillin earned Tony nominations for his performance as young Billy Crocker in the acclaimed revival of Anything Goes, starring Patti LuPone, and for his work in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Both performances also earned him Drama Desk nominations.

Tony Award nominee Louise Pitre joins the trip, having originated the role of Donna Sheridan in Broadway’s Mamma Mia! Pitre has been involved with such productions as Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, The World Goes 'Round, Blood Brothers, Tartuffe, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd, Applause, and Rock 'n' Roll. She currently continues her vibrant solo career, touring across North America.

Tony Award winner Alice Ripley rounds out the lineup of performers. She won her first Tony for her moving portrayal of Diana in Broadway’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal. She made a name for herself as one half of the iconic pair of the Hilton twins in Broadway’s Side Show, for which she earned Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations. Ripley was part of the original cast of The Who’s Tommy on Broadway and played the original Betty Schaefer in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard, starring Glenn Close. She was seen just this past season as Mrs. Bates in Broadway’s American Psycho.

In addition to performing talent, Playbill welcomes the first of its ambassadors, Ernie Sabella. Sabella is beloved worldwide for creating the one and only Pumbaa from The Lion King. Sabella was seen in the 1991Guys and Dolls with Nathan Lane, Man of La Mancha with Brian Stokes Mitchell and Curtains with David Hyde Pierce.

Best known as Salvatore Romano on the long-running hit show Mad Men, Bryan Batt returns to his theatrical roots as the Master of Ceremonies. Batt has taken on many iconic roles on Broadway including Albin in La Cage aux Folles, The Cat in the Hat in Seussical The Musical, Percy Blakeney in The Scarlett Pimpernel, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Munkstrap in Cats and as Monty in Broadway’s Saturday Night Fever.

John McDaniel returns as music director. He is a Grammy Award-winning producer, having won the statue for the cast album of Annie Get Your Gun. A producer, conductor, pianist and composer, McDaniel was the lead composer and producer of The Rosie O’Donnell Show and won two Daytime Emmy Awards with the show. He was the music director and conductor of the 1994 Grease revival, but most notably collaborated with Patti LuPone on her Patti LuPone: Live! concert, which later became the hit engagement Patti LuPone on Broadway. Over the years, he has worked with theatre legends like Bernadette Peters, Tommy Tune and Tyne Daly.
