The extension was first announced on Vineyard Theatre's Facebook page for the show.
The hard-to-define new musical has book by Hunter Bell and Susan Blackwell, and music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen. It is based on a collaboration by Hunter Bell, Michael Berresse, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff, Jeff Bowen and Larry Pressgrove. Vocal arrangements are by Jeff Bowen and Larry Pressgrove.
Opening night was March 28. Previews began March 7. Strong ticket sales (and now mixed if encouraging reviews) prompted the extensions. The meta-theatrical musical [title of show], a love letter to musicals and making theatre, had its Off-Broadway debut at The Vineyard in 2006 prior to its Broadway engagement in 2008. The show is directed and choreographed by Michael Berresse. Here's how Vineyard characterizes the work: "The six original collaborators are back and all delving into life's big questions with inimitable humor and humanity. The show explores birds, bees, reptiles, early man, ancient civilizations, and outer space. Also, loneliness, friendship, hoarding, hiding, laughing, living and dying. And middle school. And dinosaurs."
The design team is Neil Patel (scenic design), Gregory Gale (costume design), Jeff Croiter and Grant Yeager (lighting design), Acme Sound Partners (sound design), and Richard DiBella (projection design). Martha Donaldson is production stage manager.
Now. Here. This. plays Tuesdays at 7 PM, Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 3 PM and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
