Liza Minnelli will release a new recording will on J Records this fall.

A spokesman for the company said Minnelli's upcoming release on the J Records label is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 22 and will be a two-CD set. Entitled "Liza's Back!," the CD is based on Minnelli's recent "comeback" concerts in London and New York. No further information was provided.

Daily Variety also reports that Minnelli will perform two concerts at New York's Town Hall this December. The singer-actress will belt out signature tunes on Dec. 5 and 6, and the concerts will be taped for a television broadcast.

Minnelli, an Oscar winner for her performance in Cabaret, was last on Broadway in a tribute to her late father entitled Minnelli on Minnelli, which she then took on a tour that was cut short due to poor health. Her marriage to producer David Gest earlier this year has reinvigorated both the star and her career. In fact, Minnelli recently returned to New York for a series of concerts at the famed Beacon Theatre. In addition to her Tonys for Flora, the Red Menace and The Act, Minnelli was awarded a special Tony in 1974 for "adding lustre to the Broadway season." Her film credits include "The Sterile Cuckoo," "Arthur," "New York, New York" and "Stepping Out." The singer is also a Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actress.

As previously reported, Minnelli and husband Gest will take part in a new reality series, "Liza and David," which will air on VH1 this fall. —By Andrew Gans
