PlayBlog Morrison, Block, Kunze, Mendez, Brown to Teach at California's National Youth Summer Stock Tony Award nominee and "Glee" star Matthew Morrison, Stephanie J. Block, Eric Kunze, Lindsay Mendez and Tony-winning composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown will be Master Teachers at the National Youth Summer Stock.


The six-week program of classes and seminars will be offered by Musical Theatre University in Southern California beginning July 12. The 60 participants in the program will be selected by audition from throughout the United States and Canada.

Morrison, Block and Mendez are among the starry alumni of Musical Theatre University, which “offers the only professionally produced summer stock program in the country for young performers, ages 14-24,” according to press notes. Other alumni include Tony nominee Susan Egan, Krysta Rodriguez and Anneliese van der Pol.

The participants will be involved in five productions in addition to their classes. The productions, which will range from the regional and non-professional premiere of Light in the Piazza to an ASCAP Songwriter’s Showcase, will be staged in August at The Artists Theatre in Laguna Beach, CA.
