CHICAGO -- Chicago theater artists are about to undergo an intensive nightly workshop in Russian theater. From Jan. 26 to Feb. 12, Vyacheslav Dolgachov, leading director of the Moscow Art Theatre, will lead actors through a series of training exercises, incorporating assorted Russian approaches as he conducts rehearsals using texts from Anton Chekhov. Sponsored by the International Education Collaborative, the event will concentrate on creating that elusive stage quality, atmosphere, which Michael Chekhov called "a heat between audience and actor." The event takes place at the Athenaeum Theatre. For information call 1-888- 635-7536.
