Contrary to the event's name, dogs, in fact, appear in the furry show, but they are outnumbered by felines.
Gelfman International had success with its family-friendly, cat-filled entertainment from Russia in a downtown run in 2005. It now moves to an open-ended run at the Lamb's at 130 W. 44th Street.
Moscow Cats Theatre is billed as the only entertainment of its kind in the world, featuring "non-stop action by a troop of talented felines performing original and astounding acrobatic feats, integrated into a non-verbal, colorful and fun-filled family show."
The cast includes 26 cats, 2 dogs and 6 clowns, performed by Yuri Kuklachev, Yelena Kuklacheva, Inga Gerasimova, Lioudmila Smirnova, Alexander Gerasimov and Eugeny Lazarev.
Moscow Cats Theatre played a previous, hot-selling engagement at Tribeca Performing Arts Centre Sept. 17-Dec. 29, 2005. Tickets are available through Telecharge.com, or by calling (212) 239-6200.
Performances play Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM, Saturday matinees at 2 PM and 5 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets are $45-$65. For more information visit www.moscowcatstheatre.com.
