News MTC Biltmore Season to Feature Robert Sean Leonard, Laura Linney and Liev Schreiber The renovated Biltmore Theatre, the new Broadway home for Manhattan Theatre Club, will reopen Oct. 16 with The Violet Hour. Variety reports that the Richard Greenberg play will star Robert Sean Leonard.

Leonard just received a Feature Actor Tony nomination for his work in the A Long Day’s Journey Into Night revival. The play will also star TV and Chicago star Jasmine Guy and comic actor Mario Cantone. Greenberg's play, which had its world premiere in 2002 at South Coast Repertory Theatre, is set in 1919 and concerns a driven young publisher at the start of his career and the mysterious machine that could radically change his future. The official opening of the play is set for Nov. 6. Previews will begin Jan. 29 for the second MTC production of the season, Drowning Crow. A reworking of the Chekhov classic The Seagull by playwright-actress Regina (Crowns) Taylor, Drowning Crow is set on the Sea Islands where a family of African American artists convene. The official opening is set for Feb. 19.

The Manhattan Theatre Club season will conclude with a star-studded production of Donald Margulies’ Sight Unseen. Daniel Sullivan will direct the Broadway bow of Margulies’ acclaimed work about an artist and his ex-lover. Liev Schreiber and Laura Linney will star in the play, which begins previews May 6 with an official opening May 25.
