Variety reports that the Young Frankenstein star has been cast in a new sitcom that follows three generations of women who raise their families in unconventional ways. "Bad Mother's Handbook" is based on the 2006 novel of the same title by Kate Long. The novel was previously adapted for U.K. television in 2007.
Mullally will star in the series with "Clueless" actress Alicia Silverstone. Richard Shepard is slated to direct the sitcom that is penned by Jenni Konner and Ali Rushfield.
A two-time Emmy Award winner for her portrayal of Karen Walker on NBC's "Will & Grace," Mullally has appeared in the Broadway revivals of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Grease! She currently appears as Elizabeth in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. Mullally and her band, Supreme Music Program, have released the albums "Sweetheart," "Big as a Berry" and their latest, "Free Again!"
