The NYPD and the Times Square Business Improvement District (TS-BID) predict traffic delays in the theatre district on Wednesday, March 29, 11 AM-2 PM. To begin, a large anti-death penalty demonstration will be held in front of the New York Hilton Hotel, on Sixth Avenue between West 53rd and West 54th Street. Traffic delays in this area could easily back up into Broadway and affect matinee theatre traffic.

At the same time, Times Square area visits are expected by Democratic Presidential candidate, Vice President Al Gore, New York Governor George Pataki and Republican Presidential candidate, Texas Governor G. Bush during the matinee rush.

Theatre patrons may wish to adjust their plans accordingly.
