News Museum of the City of New York Will Present Stephen Sondheim With the Louis Auchincloss Prize Nov. 19; Performers Announced Stephen Sondheim will be presented with the Louis Auchincloss Prize by the Museum of the City of New York at the Cabaret! gala Nov. 19 at 7 PM.

Held at the New York Academy of Medicine, the evening will feature performances by Gregg Edelman, Harvey Evans, Judy Kaye, Howard McGillin, Victoria Mallory, Kurt Petersen and Sarah StilesMichael Montel will direct. 

"A lifelong New Yorker, Sondheim is a fitting recipient of the Louis Auchincloss Prize, awarded annually to artists and writers whose work is inspired by and enhances the five boroughs of New York City," press notes state.

The eight-time Tony Award winner's works include the lyrics for West Side Story and Gypsy and the music and lyrics for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, The Frogs, Pacific Overtures, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Assassins, Passion and Road Show.

He has also been honored with the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Academy Award, the Kennedy Center Honors Lifetime Achievement Award and the American Academy of Arts and Letters' Gold Medal for Music.
