It's too darn hot! A common enough exclamation on any Fourth of July, but this year, Stanley Wayne Mathis and the cast of Broadway's Kiss Me, Kate will be singing that sentiment to the skies during the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks 2000, airing on NBC starting at 9 PM (EST).
During the broadcast, The Music Man's Craig Bierko also leads his cast in a trimmed "76 Trombones" sung from -- where else -- but the steps of the New York Public Library (too bad Marion the Librarian, Rebecca Luker, was not on hand for the taping).
Kate taped their segment before a live audience June 29 on the deck of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. Music Man taped theirs on June 22.
Musicals are traditionally featured on the Macy's Fireworks show with Footloose and Titanic (filmed on Ellis Island) making appearances in years past.
The NBC broadcast begins at 9 PM (EST). Check local listings for times.
