The Music Theatre Group (MTG) presents Running Man on Aug. 25 at the Duffin Theatre in Lenox, Massachusetts. The music theatre piece runs through Aug. 27. The Aug. 25 performance is part of a fundraising gala that will benefit MTG.
With story and music by Dierdre Murray and text by Cornelius Eady, Running Man was produced at HERE in New York City and later in Philadelphia at the Prince Music Theatre. Running Man was a 1999 Pulitzer Prize finalist.
Now 30 years old, the Music Theatre Group is a theatrical production company that focuses on musical theatre. MTG helped launch the original production of Julie Taymor's Juan Darien at St. Clement's church in New York City more than a dozen years ago, and has been instrumental in the development of such works as Dr. Selavy's Magic Theatre, The Mother of Us All, Nightclub Cantata, Poppie Nongena, The Garden of Earthly Delights, Vienna: Lusthaus, Cinderella/Cendrillon, Extraordinary Measures and Marco Polo.
Tickets for the gala performance and party are $125. The Duffin Theatre is located in Lenox, Mass. The performance is followed by a supper party at Sally Begley's in Stockbridge. For reservations call (212) 366-5260 ext. 22.
