Galeotti, who currently stars on the television series "One Tree Hill," approached producer and songwriter Aniello to collaborate on adapting the romance for the stage. The North Carolina-set tale traces the life-long love affair of Noah Calhoun and Allie Nelson, which begins in 1932 and concludes in the 1990's. A community theatre workshop of the musical is set to take place in Wilmington, NC, in early October. Auditions for the workshop will take place the beginning of August, also in North Carolina.

The official website for The Notebook indicates that the production is ultimately aiming for a Broadway bow.

In addition to her work as an actress, Galeotti recently directed her first episode of "One Tree Hill" and is currently at work recording her third album with her band Everly. Aniello has written songs for such bands as Lifehouse, Barenaked Ladies, Jars of Clay and Six Pence None The Richer. He has also penned music and lyrics for the musical The Lonely.
