The downtown company announced Jan. 28 that the two works will launch the 2010-2011 season.
Parker and Stone — best known for their work on the animated series "South Park" — will team with Avenue Q co-creator Lopez on a new musical slated to play an August-September run at NYTW. No details about the production have yet been revealed.
Director Ivo van Hove will reteam with actress Marvel — who starred in his 2004 NYTW production of Hedda Gabler — on Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. The Flemish director has also collaborated with NYTW on Eugene O'Neill's More Stately Mansions, Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and Molière's The Misanthrope.
The current 2009-2010 season will conclude with Geoffrey Cowan and Leroy Aarons' Top Secret: The Battle for the Pentagon Papers (Feb. 24-March 28) and Claudia Shear's Restoration (April 30-June 13).
The four aforementioned plays are available as a package ($195) by calling (212) 279-4200. Tickets to shows at NYTW, 79 East Fourth Street, are available by calling (212) 460-5475. For more information visit nytw.org.
