News Musical Slasher Film "Stage Fright," With Meatloaf and Minnie Driver, Will Be Released On Demand "Stage Fright," a new film musical described as "Glee" meets "Scream," has been picked up for video on demand distribution by Magnet Releasing, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Written by writer-director Jerome Sable, the film is set to premiere at SXSW in March. Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf make appearances in the film that stars Allie MacDonald and Douglas Smith. Sable composed the music and lyrics for the film with longtime collaborator Eli Batalion. Here's how it's described: "Starry-eyed teenager Camilla Swanson wants to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a Broadway diva, but she's stuck working in the kitchen of a snobby performing arts camp. Determined to change her destiny, she sneaks in to audition for the summer showcase and lands a lead role in the play, but just as rehearsals begin, blood starts to spill, and Camilla soon finds herself terrified by the horror of musical theatre."

Sable is also the creator of the short film "The Legend of Beaver Dam." "Stage Fright" is produced by Ari Lantos, Jonas Bell Pasht, Ben Murray and Mark Musselman.

The 88-minute film will be released on iTunes and Magnets Ultra VOD April 3. "Stage Fright" will be released in theatres May 9.
