SEATTLE-- Without going the parody route of the current Seattle hit Dirty Little Showtunes, which puts lude lyrics to Broadway standards, the one-night workshop event My Romance takes familiar show tunes as written, but performed from a gay and lesbian perspective. The performance takes place at The Group Theatre, Monday May 4, 7:30 PM. Director/creator Daniel Wilson relies on the great romantic Broadway composers like Porter, Rodgers and Hart and Bernstein to make his point. The cast includes Art Anderson, Erin MacGaughan, Cheyenne Jackson, Ann Evans and Terry Edward Moore under the musical direction of Kim Douglass.
Show time is at 7:30 PM at the Group Theatre, Seattle Center House, Lower Level. Admission is free, but donations are welcome and reservations are advised. Call (206) 441-1299.
