Off-Broadway News NAATCO World Premiere of Isabel Finds Full Cast

Kedian Keohan will direct reid tang's play.

Casting is complete for the NAATCO (National Asian American Theatre Company) world premiere of reid tang's Isabel. Co-commissioned by NAATCO and Long Wharf Theatre, performances are scheduled for June 14–July 6 at the Abrons Arts Center as part of the @Abrons Series.

Kedian Keohan will direct a cast that includes Sagan Chen (Work Hard Have Fun Make History), Haruna Lee (Suicide Forest), and Ni-Ni.

The play follows Matt, who is fixing up a cheap old house in the middle of nowhere as Harriet and Isabel show up unannounced, bringing news about abandoned staircases in the forest, a backpack named Loaves, and the human screams of mountain lions.

The upcoming production will also have scenic design by dots, costume design by Hahnji Jang, lighting design by Barbara Samuels, sound design by Tei Blow, associate sound design by Jeremy Kadetsky, and prop design by Addison Heeren.

Nat Kelley DiMario will serve as production stage manager with Mars Neri as assistant manager and Libby J'Vera as production manager. Casting is by tbd casting co.

"reid tang's Isabel is a dark comedy that's somehow also spooky and tender. reid has a singular voice and the play centers a nuanced trans sibling relationship. We've assembled an extraordinary team of trans theatre makers: Kedian Keohan and reid will be making their Off-Broadway debuts as director and playwright, respectively, and our cast consists of three superstar Asian American trans/non-binary actors, one of whom will be making their professional debut after a nationwide casting search," said NAATCO Creative Producer Peter Kim in a statement.
