News Naked Angels Postpones Upcoming Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's A Long and Happy Life Naked Angels has postponed its world-premiere production of Bekah Brunstetter's A Long and Happy Life, which was scheduled for a summer bow Off-Broadway, due to funding.

A Long and Happy Life, which centers on a Bronx schoolteacher whose life is thrown into upheaval due to a freak accident, was to be directed by Pippin Parker June 14-July 24 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre.

Naked Angels, according to a statement, remains committed to producing the work at a later date. The fall world premiere of Zayd Dohrn’s Outside People will run as scheduled this fall.

"When a major funding source fell through several weeks ago, we were unable to replace it in time to produce the show as scheduled," Naked Angels incoming artistic director Andy Donald said in a statement. "Despite our absolute confidence in the play, it became clear that postponing was the most responsible decision for the company and to ensure A Long and Happy Life gets the production it deserves. We remain committed to producing the world premiere of Bekah's moving and timely new play, which we commissioned and developed for the past two years."

Brunstetter's plays include Be a Good Little Widow (Off-Broadway at Ars Nova this spring), House of Home, Miss Lilly Gets Boned and OOHRAH!
