News Nancy LaMott to Be Remembered at the Duplex March 20 and 27 The Storefront will present two evenings at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre that celebrate the life of the late acclaimed cabaret singer Nancy LaMott.

We Miss Nancy: The Storefront Sings LaMott is the title of the March 20 and 27 concerts. The 7 PM evenings will feature the talents of Julie Reyburn, Nick Cearley, Brandon Cutrell, Bobby Belfry, Ricky Ritzel (March 20 only), Scott Coulter, Marty Thomas, Liz McCartney, Carolyn Montgomery, Lisa Asher, Suzanne Fiore and Gabrielle Stravelli. Additional artists are expected to join the concerts, which will feature songs that became LaMott's signature tunes. Nancy LaMott was beloved by fans for a voice that could be soft and sweet one minute and big and belty the next. Many critics agreed she also possessed a remarkable ability to find the emotional center of any song, bringing a lyric to life as honestly as possible. LaMott's solo recording credits included “Beautiful Baby,” “Come Rain or Come Shine: The Songs of Johnny Mercer,” “My Foolish Heart,” “Just in Time for Christmas” and “Listen to My Heart” as well as the posthumously issued “What’s Good About Goodbye?" Another posthumous recording, "Nancy LaMott—Live at Tavern on the Green," was issued earlier this year with additional releases scheduled.

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located at 61 Christopher Street. For reservations, call (212) 255-5438.
