PlayBlog Nathan Lane to Guest Star on "Modern Family" Tony Award winner Nathan Lane is set to guest star on the hit ABC sitcom "Modern Family" this fall, according to deadline.com.

The show's co-creator, Steve Levitan, told Deadline.com that Lane will play Pepper, the much-discussed but so far never seen friend of Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet).

Lane is currently appearing in The Addams Family at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. He holds two Tony Awards for The Producers and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Additional stage credits include Waiting for Godot, November, Butley, The Frogs, The Man Who Came to Dinner, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Guys and Dolls, Dedication, The Lisbon Traviata, Lips Together, Teeth Apart and Love! Valour! Compassion!. Screen credits include "The Producers," "Nicholas Nickleby," "The Birdcage," "Jeffrey," "The Lion King," "Frankie and Johnny" and Ironweed."
