News National High School Musical Theatre Awards Set NYC Date Students from across the U.S. will travel to New York City this June to compete in the Jimmy Awards.

The ninth annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards, otherwise known as the Jimmy Awards, will take place June 26, 2017, at 7:30 PM at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre. Each year, students from across the U.S. travel to New York City to compete in the categories of Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress.

The Jimmy Awards feature solo and group performances from students who won top honors at regional high school musical theatre awards across the country. The Jimmy Award winners are selected by a panel of industry professionals.

During their week-long stay, students receive professional training with NYU Tisch School of the Arts' New Studio and Broadway faculty members plus other theatre professionals.

Presented by the Broadway League, the Jimmy Awards are named for the late Broadway producer/theatre owner James M. Nederlander.
