News National Tour of Billy Elliot Concludes June 23; Musical to Play Brazil in August After performing in more than 60 cities across North America, Billy Elliot the Musical plays its final U.S. performance June 23 in Connecticut.

In addition to the Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical, the musical played sit-down productions in Chicago and Toronto. The musical launched a more expansive, multi-year second national tour in Durham, NC, at the Triangle's DPAC Oct. 30-Nov. 14, 2010. That tour concludes at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, CT, June 23.

The tour will travel to Brazil, where it will play Aug. 2-18, 2013, at Credicard Hall in São Paulo.

Currently alternating in the title role are Drew Minard, Noah Parets and Mitchell Tobin. Also featured are Janet Dickinson (Mrs. Wilkinson), Rich Hebert (Dad), Patti Perkins (Grandma), Cullen R. Titmas (Tony), Joel Blum (George), Cameron Clifford and Jake Kitchin (Michael) and Samantha Blaire Cutler (Debbie).

Rounding out the cast are Paul Aguirre, Cal Alexander, Madison Barnes, Maximilien A. Baud, Damien Brett, Jhailyn Farcon, Tim Funnell, Molly Garner, Richard Gatta, Christopher M. Howard, Ryan Kasprzak, Danielle Kelsey, Marisa Kennedy, Patrick Lavallee, David Light, Rebecca Marlowe, Cara Massey, Kaitlyn Mueller, Joel Newsome, Brittany Nicholas, Yanna Nikitas, Adam Pelty, Colin Pritchard, Jillian Rees-Brown, Kilty Reidy, Peyton Royal, Sofia Roma Rubino, Vanessa Russo, Carly Tamer, Brionna Trilling and Thad Turner Wilson.

Billy Elliot, according to press notes, is the "funny, heartwarming tale of a young boy with a dream, and a celebration of his triumph against the odds. Set against the historic British miners’ strike of the 1980s, the story follows Billy’s journey as a boy in a small mining town who, after stumbling across a ballet class while on his way to a boxing lesson, realizes that his future lay not in the boxing ring but on stage as a dancer." Featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, Billy Elliot has choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry.
