News National Yiddish Theatre – Folksbiene Presents Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza Dec. 2 The National Yiddish Theatre – Folksbiene honors Theodore Bikel in a one-night concert Dec. 2 at 7:30 PM at Symphony Space.

Held in Symphony Space's Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza, which was conceived by the evening's music director, Zalmen Mlotekheld, celebrates Bikel's forthcoming 90th birthday in May 2014.

Performers include Frank London, Psoy Korolenko, Joanne Borts (Once) and Elmore James (Big River, Beauty and the Beast). The singers and soloists include Magda Fishman, Avi Fox-Rosen, Avram Pengas and Rachel Yucht, as well as Folksbiene Klezmorim members Brian Glassman, Lisa Gutkin, Dave Levitt, Dmitri "Zisl" Slepovitch and Matt Temkin.

Bikel, a Tony and Oscar nominee and Emmy Award-winning folk singer and activist, makes a special appearance, supported by the Frank London-led Folksbiene Klezmorim Orchestra. His film credits include "My Fair Lady" and "The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming," and his stage work includes The Lark, The Sound of Music and Fiddler on the Roof.

Bikel is also saluted by his friend, the Emmy and Obie Award-winning comic actor Fyvush Finkel, in a tribute to Yiddishkeit.

The evening supports the Drama Desk Award-winning National Yiddish Theatre – Folksbiene. Now in its 99th consecutive season, the theatre's mission is to celebrate the Jewish experience through the performing arts.
