News NBC Nabs Broderick for "Beach Lane" Sitcom Two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick has signed to star in the new NBC sitcom "Beach Lane," Variety reports.

Paul Simms has penned the script for the series that casts Broderick as a celebrity author who is brought on board to run a struggling small-town Hamptons newspaper. Simms will executive produce the series with Lorne Michaels and Marci Klein.

Broderick most recently appeared on NBC's "30 Rock" and will be featured in the network's reality show "Who Do You Think You Are." He earned Tony Awards for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Brighton Beach Memoirs. His numerous stage roles also include The Producers, The Odd Couple, Biloxi Blues and The Starry Messenger.
