News NBC Orders Additional Scripts for Leslye Headland's "Assistance," Starring Krysten Ritter and Alfred Molina NBC has ordered three more scripts of the comedy pilot "Assistance," according to Deadline.com.

From Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions, the show features Krysten Ritter ("Don't Trust the B— in Apartment 23") and Alfred Molina (Red, Fiddler on the Roof, Art) and focuses on an idealistic assistant who is torn between her "work husband" colleague and her real-life fiance while working for her demanding boss. The show is adapted by Leslye Headland from her play of the same name, which was given its New York City premiere in 2012 at Playwrights Horizons. The darkly comic work about ambition and celebrity and the allure of power began performances Feb. 3, 2012, at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater and played through March of that year. The production featured Bobby Steggert, Michael Esper, Sue Jean Kim, Virginia Kull, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe and Amy Rosoff.

Here's how the play was described: "For these young assistants, life is an endless series of humiliations at the hands of their hellacious boss, a powerful uber-magnate. In rare moments of calm when the phone calls stop rolling, Nick and Nora and their traumatized co-workers question whether all their work will lead to success — or just more work. [It's] a biting, high-octane satire about our attraction to power and what we're willing to sacrifice to stay in its orbit."
