News NC Audiences Get Additional Chance to See Wood in Romeo and Juliet The sold-out Theatre In The Park production of Romeo and Juliet, starring Evan Rachel Wood and Kyle Perren, has added an additional performance on May 19.

Running May 15-17 in Raleigh, NC, Romeo and Juliet quickly sold out its benefit run when it was announced that screen actress Evan Rachel Wood ("The Wrestler," "Across the Universe") would star as Juliet in the Shakespeare tragedy.

In order to accommodate ticket demand, the Theatre In The Park has added an additional performance at 7:30 PM on May 19.

Wood's brother, Ira David Wood, IV directs and appears as Mercutio. The cast also features Ira David Wood, III (father to Evan and Ira) in the role of Capulet and Linda Clark as Lady Capulet.

Additional cast members include Perren (Romeo), David Henderson (Friar Lawrence), Rasool Jahan (The Nurse), Michael Murray (Tybalt), John McIlwee (Montague), Andrea Schulz Twiss (Lady Montague), Matthew Rubolino (Benvolio), Rob Rainbolt (Gregory), James Hampton Rowe (Sampson), James Miller (Paris), D. Anthony Pender (Prince Escalus), Tim Caudle (Peter), Samuel Whisnant (Abraham), Jackson Bloom (Balthazar), Brent Simpson (Friar John) and chorus members Mattney Beck, Emily Gardenhire, Rita Glynn, Mike Raab and Bridget Russell.

The design team includes Stephen J. Larson (scenic design), Christopher Johnson (lighting design), John McIlwee (costume design) and Will Mikes (sound design). Evan Rachel Wood, who has appeared in such films as "The Wrestler," "Across the Universe," "Running with Scissors" and "Thirteen," recently revealed that she will make her Broadway debut in the new musical Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark. While Wood has participated in readings of the musical, no official casting announcement has been made.
