The Flat Rock Playhouse, located in the North Carolina town of the same name, will present the thriller, Dr. Cook's Garden through Sept. 14.
Dr. Cook's Garden, written by Ira Levin (Deathtrap, Rosemary's Baby, No Time For Sergeants), is the story of a peaceful Vermont town and their beloved Dr. Cook. When Dr. Cook becomes ill, his young protege, Dr. Jim Tennyson seeks to help him, but uncovers some frightening truths about the town and his mentor. Dr. Cook's Garden first appeared on Broadway in 1967, starring Burl Ives and Keir Dullea. It was filmed for TV with Bing Crosby and Blythe Danner.
The role of Dr. Cook will be played by Michael Edwards, and Scott Treadway (Artistic Director and Development Director, FRP) will play Dr. Tennyson. Other cast members include Jane Bushway, Pat Fuleihan, and Wayne Tetrick, and the production will be directed by Betsy Bisson.
