The Legend of Emperor Qin is presented by Shaanxi Qinhuang Grand Theater Performing Arts Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shaanxi Miracle Achievements Development Co.; Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment serves as the managing partner for the theatre and executive producer of the production.
The production will reunite members from the creative team behind the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with Hollywood composer Klaus Badelt, writer Sun Haohui and director Zhao Ming. The Legend of Emperor Qin will be the world's first stage production to depict the story of the Chinese Qin Dynasty.
The show will play year-round at the Qinhuang Grand Theatre, at Qin Cultural Tourism Resort, adjacent to the legendary Terra Cotta Warriors exhibition. Launching in spring 2014, The Legend of Emperor Qin will be the inaugural production for the new performance venue. With an investment of over $65,000,000, the theatre covers 236,000 square feet, has seating capacity of 2,000 and houses one of the biggest stage LED screens in China, making the venue one of the largest destination theatres in China.
