News Neil LaBute's "Some Velvet Morning," With Stanley Tucci and Alice Eve, Sets Theatrical Release The Neil LaBute film "Some Velvet Morning," starring Academy and Tony Award nominee Stanley Tucci and Alice Eve, has been acquired by Tribeca Film for distribution in U.S. cinemas and via on-demand platforms in December.

"Some Velvet Morning" had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. It will be released via digital on-demand platforms, including iTunes, beginning Dec. 10, with a Dec. 13 theatrical release. "Some Velvet Morning," according to Tribeca, "introduces us to Fred (Stanley Tucci) who arrives at the doorstep of his beautiful young mistress Velvet (Alice Eve) after four years apart, claiming to have finally left his wife. But when she rejects his attempts to rekindle their romance, his persistence evolves into obsession — and a dark history between the former lovers comes into focus. A return to form for writer/director Neil LaBute, 'Some Velvet Morning' is an astutely written portrait of a very modern romance. Tucci and Eve's nuanced and complex performances, paired with LaBute’s wordplay, create an intriguing drama."

LaBute's plays include Reasons to Be Pretty, Reasons to Be Happy, The Shape of Things, The Break of Noon, Fat Pig and The Mercy Seat, among others.
