Classic Arts News Netrebko, Villaz‹n and Domingo to Serenade World Cup Fans Tonight Russian soprano Anna Netrebko and Mexican tenor Rolando Villaz‹n join Plšcido Domingo in serenading football (soccer) fans at Berlin's Waldb‹hnen tonight.
The championship match of the 2006 World Cup, between Italy and France, is on Sunday (July 9). Traditionally, the Three Tenors have performed at the last weekend of the World Cup, but the trio have recently scaled back appearances together. Pavarotti is now recovering from cancer surgery.

Netrebko and Villaz‹n have become one of opera's golden stage couples recently, with hit performances together at major opera houses. (The relationship is, by all reports, strictly professional.)

The three opera stars are joined by the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin conducted by Marco Armiliato. The performance begins at 8 p.m. European Summer Time (2 p.m. U.S. EDT).
