The production for the Atlantic Theater Company, which officially opens May 15, also marks Allen’s theatrical directorial debut. The evening is comprised of the one-acts “Riverside Drive,” which takes place on New York City’s Riverside Drive; and “Old Saybrook,” which is set in a house in Connecticut.
The star-studded cast features Kate (The Syringa Tree) Blumberg, Heather (Lobby Hero) Burns, Clea (“Ellen”) Lewis, Bebe (“Cheers,” Chicago) Neuwirth, Richard (“The Sopranos”) Portnow, Paul (“Mad About You”) Reiser, Grant (“Murphy Brown”) Shaud, Skipp (“Third Watch”) Sudduth, Jay (“Murphy Brown”) Thomas and The Crucible’s Christopher Evan Welch. The creative team includes Santo Loquasto (scenic design), James F. Ingalls (lighting design), Scott Myers (sound design) and Laura Bauer (costume design).
Writer’s Block will play Tuesday-Sunday evenings at 8 PM with matinees on Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. The opening-night performance on May 15 will have a 7:30 PM curtain. Tickets are priced at $50 and are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
