Promising to be the biggest Theatrical Complex of Latin America, with four large theatres, The Credicard Hall, a USD $31,000,00 project, will be inaugurated in May 1999, in the city of Sao Paulo.

Versatility is the main priority for the Credicard Hall´s producers. A place holding 7,500,00 people at a rock show can be modified, in less than thirty minutes, into a theatrical stage where 1,500,00 spectators can enjoy a classic concert, a ballet or a play. This is all due to the sophisticated electronic systems of the project, that will move the retractable seats and elevate platforms very fast.

The project, which begins construction this year on the Marginal Pinheiros Road in Sao Paulo City, has a 15,000 square meters with capacity for a public of 7,500,00 people.

"This is an extremely versatile place," says the author of the project, Brazilian architect Gian Carlo Gasperini."It was such a challenge to create a space for different entertainments in the same area."

French engineer Daniel Commins, responsible for the acoustics system of The Kennedy Center Opera Theatre in Washington, signed a contract with the Credicard Hall´s producers, and will be the acoustics manager and engineer of the project. According to a member of the project, the Sao Paulo Palace Theatre owner Fernando Alterio, the Credicard Hall stage will be controlled by computers that can change the scenery up to sixty times per play.

With four large theatres to cover different kinds of entertainment, The Credicard Hall will also have a modern security system and an enormous parking area.
