News New ABC-TV Comedy "Cavemen," with Tony Winner White, Debuts Oct. 2 Tony Award winner Julie White is featured in the new ABC comedy "Cavemen," which premieres Oct. 2.

The half-hour comedy debuts Oct. 2 at 8 PM (ET) and will continue to air Tuesdays in the same time slot. The show was developed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck with Joe Lawson.

Based on the popular Geico insurance commercials featuring cavemen and their plight to be recognized as equals in modern society, the new series features a trio of Neanderthals.

"Meet three cavemen who have successfully made the move to San Diego and are just trying to fit in," reads a show description. "Joel (Bill English, Twentieth Century) is a sophisticated and intelligent man who has a beautiful girlfriend, a decent job and shares an apartment with his younger brother, Andy (Sam Huntington, 'Superman Returns'), and his best friend, Nick (Nick Kroll, VH1's 'Best Week Ever'). Nick is wary of the Homo sapien world and feels like he's running away from his heritage. Andy, on the other hand, looks at this new world with his eyes wide open and is willing to take risks in order to learn and live life to the fullest."

White appears as Leslie, the eccentric mother of the girlfriend Kate (Kaitlin Doubleday). Also featured is Stephanie Lemelin as Kate's caveman-curious best friend Thorne.

Actress White has previously been seen on the small screen in "Desperate Housewives," "Grace Under Fire" and "Six Feet Under." Prior to her Tony win for The Little Dog Laughed, she has appeared onstage in Bad Dates, Fiction, The Heidi Chronicles, Dinner With Friends, Barbra's Wedding, Spike Heels and The Family of Mann. Her film credits include the recent "Transformers," "The Astronaut Farmer," "The Nanny Diaries" and the upcoming "Michael Clayton." For more information, visit abc.com.
