Thanks to Arthur Miller and Death of a Salesman, actor Brian Dennehy was able to add a Tony and Golden Globe Award to his collection of accolades. May 17, he'll return the favor to Miller when he presents the legendary American playwright with New Dramatists' 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award. The 52nd annual New Dramatists luncheon, at which Miller will receive the prize, will be held 11 AM-2:30 PM at the Broadway Ballroom of the New York Marriott Marquis.

Miller claims a distinction few other living American playwrights can claim; his plays, especially Death of a Salesman and The Crucible, are commonly taught in high school and college curriculums. Since 1944, when his first play The Man Who Had All the Luck was produced, Miller has contributed regularly to the stage with the oft revived All My Sons, The Price and A View from the Bridge. Other works include After the Fall, Broken Glass and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan.

Past New Dramatists luncheons have honored Angela Lansbury, Julie Andrews, Glenn Close, Kander and Ebb, Neil Simon, Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim, Gwen Verdon and Terrence McNally.
