News New Dykstra Comedy Clean Alternatives Opens Off-Broadway Feb. 15 Brian Dykstra, the playwright-actor from Off-Broadway's Cornered & Alone, opens in his new comedy Clean Alternatives with co-stars Mark Boyett and Sue-Anne Morrow, Feb. 15.

Fresh Ice Productions, in association with Jack W. Batman and Greg Schaffert, present the "toxic comedy" directed by Margarett Perry. The show began previews Feb. 9 at 59E59 Theaters for a limited engagement through March 12.

Clean Alternatives is billed as "an incendiary tale of an environmentally-friendly family business afloat in a sea of corporate sharks. A chemical reaction ignites a love affair, dirty little secrets are exposed and a young woman finds a way to make her life organically solvent," show materials explain.

Perry — who directed Dykstra in Cornered & Alone — helms the cast which includes Boyett (Old Wicked Songs), Morrow (The Full Monty national tour of Angels in America) and Dykstra himself.

The design team for Clean Alternatives features Maruti Evans (set and lighting), Jennifer B. Halpern (costumes) and Ken Hypes (sound).

Dykstra's other works include Hiding Behind Comets, That Damn Dykstra (the boxed set), STRANGERHORSE and Forsaking All Others. As an actor, he appeared in Rounding Third at Hartford's TheaterWorks, in Brian Park's Americana Absurdum in London and Off-Broadway in Breaking Legs, Incommunicado and Tatjana in Color. Tickets to Clean Alternatives at 59E59 Theaters, 59 East 59 Street (between Madison and Park Ave.), can be purchased by calling (212) 279-4200 or in person at the box office.
