A young girl's deceased mother is reincarnated as an exotic tropical fish in the New Georges' Off-Off-Broadway production of Diana Son's Fishes. The play announced it will finish its run June 27 at 46 Walker St. in New York. Fishes is an allegorical tale of a young girl's coming of age. Junebug spends her days fantasizing about being a fish and swimming away, until the day her mother dies and she must take over her duties at the family pet store. Once she returns to Earth as a fish, Junebug's mother tries to teach her daughter the importance of achieving her dreams.

Judy Minor will direct a cast featuring William Badgett, Ken Barnett, Amy Povich, Camilia Sanes, and Connie Winston. New Georges is dedicated to new works by women. For more information, call (212) 560-7387.
