With all the hoopla surrounding the du Maurier World Stage Festival in April, there's an independent production that well get lost. From April 22 to May 17, New Globe Theatre presents Valley Song by Athol Fugard.
What makes this production worth noting is threefold: For one thing, it features Leslie Carlson and Yanna McIntosh, two very talented actors. Another is Stratford Festival's Seana McKenna, who makes her directing debut and finally, The New Globe has a solid reputation built on doing occasional shows at the Studio Theatre in the Ford Centre For the Performing Arts (the same building that has hosted Show Boat and Ragtime.
In the past New Globe's shows have featured television and stage actor Al Waxman as director.
Valley Song runs from April 22 to May 17 at the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts, Studio Theatre. For tickets call: 416-872-2222.
