Rogers starred in early versions of Richard Greenberg's The Dazzle and John Patrick Shanley's Cellini in past New York Stage and Film seasons. Both plays eventually moved to Off-Broadway productions, with Rogers featured in each.
The Henley play is described by the author as a poignant comedy about "the healing power of love." It is set at Christmastime. Also starring are Keith Nobbs (Four), Ellen McElduff, Erin Cherry and Kate Forbes (Othello). David Esbjornson directs. Dates are July 18-20 on the Second Stage.
On the Main Stage, meanwhile, Ben Synder's In Case You Forget, which plays July 16-27, is directed by Max Mayer. Jeremy Alan Richards, Johnny Sanchez, Anika Noni Rose and Michael Mosley star.
The show is about a young graffiti artist on his way to prison and is described as having a "hip hop edge." Sound youthful? Well, Snyder, a LAByrinth Theatre Company member, is all of 23 years old.
The Vassar season began on June 20 and continues through Aug. 3. Remaining Second Stage plays include: The New Americans (Aug. 1 3) by Cindy Lou Johnson, directed by Sheryl Kaller. A late addition to the season is a new play by Paul Weitz called Roulette.
