Special Features New Life for It's a Wonderful Life Musical in Cleveland Few projects would seem as daunting as adapting for the musical stage the beloved Frank Capra Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life, but that is what Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof) and the late Joe Raposo ("Sesame Street") did with their A Wonderful Life, which had its first professional mounting in 1991 at the Arena Stage after readings around the country. The show met with mixed reviews, preventing its move to in New York, but it has since received a number of productions in regional theatre, the latest being the one which is playing through December 28 at The Cleveland Play House, directed by Alan MacVey, who is also a drama professor at the University of Iowa.
