The 1981 Henry Krieger-Tom Eyen Broadway musical Dreamgirls officially premieres December 14, following previews that began November 19 at the West End's Savoy Theatre—35 years on from its Broadway premiere.
The cast is led by Amber Riley as Effie White, Ibinabo Jack as Lorrell Robinson, and Liisi LaFontaine as Deena Jones, making up the singing trio “The Dreams” in the show.
The Broadway director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw, currently represented in the West End by the transfers of The Book of Mormon and Aladdin, makes his London debut originating a new production.
