News New Musical Family Fortune is Aiming for Broadway After New Orleans Bow Manny Fox, who co-produced the Duke Ellington revue Sophisticated Ladies, has a new musical on his plate.

Fox, according to Variety, is producing Family Fortune, which will debut at New Orleans' Mahalia Jackson Theater in summer 2012 with a possible Broadway bow after that time. The new musical features music by Alberto Carrion and Nile Rodgers; the latter is also producer of the score. Fox's wife, Cinda Firestone Fox, penned the book.

The musical, according to the industry paper, is loosely based on Cinda Firestone Fox's "experiences as a member of the clan that began Firestone Tire and Rubber. Story has been reset in Puerto Rico, where a salsa dancer marries a wealthy man and becomes embroiled in a battle over his family's assets."

Fox is also at work on a revised version of Sophisticated Ladies for Las Vegas.
