Leaving Queens, a new musical by Kate Moira Ryan and Kim D. Sheridan, will have its debut Off-Broadway at the Women's Project Theatre on Feb. 25. Official opening is March 1.

The story follows Megan Grant, a second-generation Irish-American photographer, who is trying to trace her family's history in order to make sense of her present. The cast features Alexander Bonnin, Sean Dooley, Jim Jacobsen, Paul Niebanck, Cynthia Sophiea, Barbara Tirrell and Alice Vienneau. Allison Narver directs.

Sherman, who wrote the music, is perhaps best known for composing O Pioneers! with Darrah Cloud. Lyricist and bookwriter Ryan's work has been performed at Soho Rep (Hadley's Mistake) and HERE (Damage & Desire).

The Women's Project's last presentation was Neena Beber's Hard Feelings, which had a run last fall.
