NY Musical Theatre Fest New Musical The Chocolate Tree Receives Developmental NYMF Reading, Sept. 21 The Chocolate Tree, a new musical about the true story of a young girl who found inspiration from adversity, will receive a developmental reading Sept. 21 at 1 PM and 4:30 PM at the Sage Theatre.

Moving between reality and fantasy, the show depicts a family's journey through the unthinkable, led by a child's spirit and determination to bring the impossible to life.

The creative team includes Marshall Pailet (music and book), who is currently a sophomore at Yale University; Al Pailet (lyrics and book); Sheryl Kaller (Director); and Ben Cohn (Music Director).

The cast includes Danielle Freid (Anna), Laura Mufson (Mom), Paul Blankenship (Dad), Eric Briarley (James), Leo Dority (Michael), Jonathan Kaplan (Dojo/Ensemble), Caissie Levy (Ensemble), and Emy Basic (Ensemble).
