News New Plays By Bogosian, Mamet, Gelbart and Ackermann Set for Berkshire Gala New short plays by Eric Bogosian and David Mamet will be part of the Berkshire Playwrights Lab gala season opening on May 29.

The playwrights will each pen a short play to be performed as part of the 8 PM event, which benefits the Berkshire Playwrights Lab Free Staged Reading Series. The gala event will be presented at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington. Set to contribute original plays are Tony winner Mamet (Speed-the-Plow, Glengary Glen Ross) and Pulitzer Prize finalist Bogosian (Talk Radio) as well as Tony winner Larry Gelbart (City of Angels, Forum) and Mixed Company artistic director Joan Ackermann ("Arli$$").

Announced to appear in the works are Tony winner Elizabeth Franz (Death of a Salesman), Karen Allen ("Raiders of the Lost Ark"), Dan Lauria ("The Wonder Years"), Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me!"), Peter Riegert (The Old Neighborhood) and Emmy winner Jay Thomas ("Murphy Brown").
